im going to get cert somewhere, i was sent to ace as the best.tell me the other org's best certs so i can compare.
thats hard to ask in short terms, i was sent to ace as the best respected source of professional trainer certs, I am a black belt in two arts and want to make a career of fitness as i recently used the skills learned in training years ago to lose almost 100 lbs after a health scare at 250 lbs. Id like to have the other organizations best certifications pointed out (to help me avoid the mass of useless unrecognized certifications available). As highly as ACE was reccomended i suspect that after research thats going to be the direction i need to go however i like to make informed decisions and feel as though if ACE is as good as they say then theres no reason i cant be sent to compare products and be brought back to ACE after comparing quality. Please help, I have had to make a career change as a result of the health scare and this (because of my personal history) seems to be my best option as i dont view teaching martial arts as stable enough to pursue as a means to provide for myself and my family.
Great question —it’s worth your time and effort to compare fitness certifications. Choosing the right one helps ensure you are well prepared to keep your clients safe, help them reach and maintain their goals, and enables you to earn a respected credential. To get started, check out this comparison of a number of personal training certifications, including ACE, ACSM, and NASM. A key feature of quality fitness certification programs is accreditation by an organization such as the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or European Health and Fitness Association (EHFA). Employers — and informed consumers — will often hire fitness pros holding accredited certifications over those who don’t.
