Is being a personal trainer for seniors something I can make a career of/retire doing? Is there a market for it?

Yes, there is absolutely a market for personal training with the senior population. Right now in our country, the baby-boomer generation is leaving the workforce and going into retirement, this means there is a greater need for trainers for this specific population than ever before. It is important to be well versed in the special needs of these clients and ACE has put together a comprehensive specialty certification just for this population.

With our “Senior Fitness Specialty Certification” fitness professionals can grow their business by working with those clients 55 and over. This specialty certification will teach you a variety of exercises for this population, how to program for orthopedic issues, as well has how to discuss nutrition with this age group.

More information on this specialty certification can be found here:

Good luck training this very special group of clients. It is never too late to become fit and healthy and working with this population will be very rewarding!
