I’ve been hearing a lot about CrossFit- what exactly is a CrossFit workout like?
CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program that focuses on everything from coordination to power through an assortment of randomized physical challenges. From exercises like box jumps and kettlebell swings to tried and true exercises like lunges and push-ups, it’s a total body integrated approach to fitness based on some of the movement patterns of everyday. The CrossFit WOD (workout of the day) varies from day to day, and while the exact look and location of “the box” (the term used to describe a CrossFit training center) varies from one location to the next, they typically have a very industrial feel (such as a large warehouse or garage) with tons of open floor space and a variety of training tools, like barbells and kettlebells, lining the walls.
